NewBeauty TestTube July 2020

This month's NewBeauty TestTube is another great selection of haircare, skincare and beauty products that will help you look and feel your best. As with previous months, it's a mix of brands I'm familiar with as well as some new brands I'm excited to try. Let's take a look.

Sunday Riley Good Genes Glycolic Acid Treatment [$122] This serum can be used morning or night to exfoliate skin with the benefit of glycolic acid. This acid unclogs pores, leaving skin smoother and clearer. If you want a less potent version, check out the Lactic Acid version of this serum.

Commodity Mimosa [$26] I usually gravitate toward sweeter scents, but I really like the notes of this fragrance. It has sandalwood, black amber and petitgrain, which combine for a versatile, unisex fragrance. Commodity has a minimal collection at affordable prices with something for everyone.

Klorane Dry Shampoo [$20] I don't know why but I always get excited when I see dry shampoo in subscription boxes. It's not the most exciting thing, but it's a product I use daily so I appreciate those basics being included. This dry shampoo contains oat milk to soothe and protect while it absorbs excess oil.

Grande Cosmetics Liquid Highlighter [$25] This highlighter provides a plumping effect, hydration and brightening all in one step. It can be used alone or with makeup for a natural or more intense look if you layer the liquid. I love the doe foot applicator for precise application too.

Neuma Reneu Scalp Therapy [$26] A scalp exfoliator is something I never knew I needed until I tried it. Getting rid of built up product in addition to shampooing is such a fresh feeling. This exfoliating treatment gets used after you shampoo. Just massage into the scalp for a couple minutes and finish with your favorite conditioner. It smells like peppermint too, so good.

10+ Free Chemistry Base Coat [$18] I might be most excited about this base coat because it hydrates and restores nails for added strength. My nails have been peeling a lot (thanks to doing dishes and washing hands a lot, so I can really use a treatment like this.) Key ingredients include plant extracts, ceramides and vitamins.

Luminess Creme Lipstick [$24] This lipstick is hydrating and long-lasting to give lips pigment without feathering or over-drying. Key ingredients include cocoa butter, shea butter and marula oil for moisture and shine.

Hanhoo Collagen Vitamin C Supplement [$3] These supplements can be taken 1-2 times a day without the need to dilute in water. They combine collagen, vitamin C and biotin for healthy skin and nails and a boost for your immune system.
