This post requires a bit of a backstory.  Several years ago when I was really starting to explore in the makeup world I discovered Studio Gear Cosmetics at Ulta (yes, they were once sold there!).  It was the first high end brand that ever caught my eye and I remember buying two single eyeshadows.  They were both brown, but as any beauty savvy woman will tell you, they were completely different shades and absolute necessities!  The shadows wore beautifully - and this was before I discovered eye primer!  By the time I sought out to buy more of these beauties and expand my "beauty palette" so to speak, they were no longer carried in the store.  Ulta was taken over by so many brands and I got distracted by their colorful ads, beautiful displays and soon veered away from my beloved Studio Gear eyeshadows.

Like many makeup lovers, palettes became my obsession and I never put much thought into eyeshadow singles.  I am more apt to buy a palette because of the versatility and value.  That being said, if I seek out an eyeshadow single, you know I must love it.  So recently, I thought back to my "first love" in the makeup world, found Studio Gear on Instagram, and explored their website for some amazing deals!  At the time of purchase, these shadows were only $4 each PLUS free shipping!  Incredible products at an incredible price.  Now, on to the shadows!

Studio Gear Cosmetics Eyeshadows come in a variety of finishes.  I chose shadows from three different categories: matte, satin & pearl.

Matte Eyeshadow in Vanilla

This shade can be used as a brow bone highlight,  swept across the lid for an instant brightening effect or used as a matte inner corner highlight.  I love versatile single shadows because they can be used in combination with palettes that are lacking "basic" colors.  This shadow is the perfect companion to shimmery or colorful palettes in need of a light neutral shade.

Satin Eyeshadow in Camisole

Nude pink/peach shades are a favorite of mine to brighten my eyes without washing me out.  This shade is beautiful on its own or complimented with a warm color in the outer corner or crease.  It is a versatile shade that will suit a wide variety of skintones.  I personally love wearing it all over the lid with a deep brown or bronze shadow in the outer corner.

Pearl Eyeshadow in Oyster Dust

This shade is perfect for a "one shadow look."  It is a light frosty beige tone that can brighten your eyes but still provide depth when blended in the crease.  This is probably one of my favorite colors from Studio Gear.  It is a neutral with a twist that can compliment many looks.  Like the other shadows from this brand it wears like a dream and the color stays vivid from first application until you're ready to wash off your makeup.

Stay tuned, there is more from Studio Gear Cosmetics to come!!
