The Product
The Sculpting Brush is one of the
newest editions to the Real Techniques line. Its narrow, angled cut
makes it the perfect shape for contouring. It's not nearly as narrow
as the Flat Contour Brush in their new Bold Metals line, allowing for
a much softer look.
The Function
If you're wanting the brush for multiple purposes, I think it would also work well for powder foundation. It's a very dense brush and picks up more than enough product... sometimes a little too much! You may want to use a light hand with it until you get used to it.
The Style
This brush, along with several others
such as the Blush, Stippling, and Expert Face Brush from Real Techniques, has a wide
handle that flairs out at the bottom allowing you to stand it upright
on your vanity. While this may pose a problem depending on how you
store your brushes, I personally like the idea of being able to put
my brushes down without them getting dirty or depositing makeup on my
vanity. It doesn't affect the function of the brush, it's just
personal preference.
The Bottom Line
As with all the other brushes in their
main line, the Sculpting Brush is amazing quality and very
reasonable. It retails for $9.99 at Ulta, which is where I purchased
mine. Ulta always has buy one get one half off deals that you can combine with their coupons, so you could get it even
cheaper if you're patient for a sale. I would definitely recommend
this brush whether you're just starting out or want a unique brush to
add to your collection! Happy shopping!
